Thanks for visiting our website. My name is David Myers and I am the owner of Mountain Creek Land Company, the developer of the beautiful mountain properties represented on this website. In the following paragraphs, I want to tell you a little about myself, my company and our development strategy.
Starting in 1978, I worked in the resort real estate, and land development business for other companies. In 1993, I founded Mountain Creek Land Company and started the first of eighteen beautiful mountain communities. All of them, except the last two, are completely sold out. My 17th community - Clearwater Creek - is 90% sold, and my 18th community - Hearthstone Ridge - is still under construction.
We operate our business in Rutherford, Polk and McDowell counties, which are located at the southeastern edges of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The first thing we do is to locate 200+ acre land tracts with an abundance of natural amenities, such as streams, creeks, rivers, lakes, spectacular Blue Ridge Mountain views, and a mix of gently rolling open and wooded land.
These parcels must be in the country and have easy accessibility, yet be close to hospitals, schools, shopping, dining, interstate highways, and emergency services. Then we negotiate the best cash price possible (there are no mortgages or liens on any of our properties). The next step is to layout the roads, electric, telephone, and build the gated entrances and community parks. Each step of the process is bid out to keep tight controls on quality and cost.
Once the basic infrastructure is done, we layout each of the one to five acre homesites using the terrain, streams, and creeks as natural boundaries wherever possible. Then we request the North Carolina Health Department to issue a septic permit for each homesite, which guarantees that it is buildable.
Finally, we place reasonable restrictions on the use of the properties to protect your investment. All of these things are done to be able to offer you the best real estate value for your money anywhere in western North Carolina. Hopefully, when you visit, you’ll agree!
See you soon,
Dave Myers
